Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take before I get my wedding photos?
It takes me between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the amount of photographs I'll be editing. For wedding albums or other extra designs, it'll take an extra week.
Do you do evening and night-time weddings?
Evening photos are always a challenge, but I've done it before and I have the necissary equipment. However, it can take me up to 2 weeks longer to edit the photos.
Can you do studio photoshoots?
I build my photography around my love for nature and natural light, so I'm afraid not. Excluding wedding chapels and people's homes, all my photography takes place in the best studio in the world - the great outdoors.
Are there specific locations for photoshoots or can we chose where the photos are taken?
We can do the shoot anywhere you want. The shoot is all about you, so it's important to choose a location that you like and feel comfortable at. We can do it anywhere from Groenkloof Nature Reserve to your own home and garden. If you're not sure where to go, I can give you suggestions for some great places.
What should we wear for the photoshoot?
Absolutely anything you want. I encourage people to bring one or two quick changes of clothes along to add variety to their photographs. As long as you feel comfortable and happy, it doesn't matter what you wear. It can be anything from jeans and a tee to a tuxedo to something fun and silly.
What is a 'First Look' shoot?
While most couples like the idea of not seeing each other before the ceremony, some don't worry as much about the tradition. A First Look shoot is when the couple gets together after getting ready for a private photoshoot just before the ceremony. Its a great way to release some pre-wedding butterflies and a great opportunity to get some really special photographs.
You mention special effect duplicates from some of the photos. What exactly are 'special effects'?
Some people love black and white or sepia versions of their photographs, so I give people the choice to have some artistic editing on a number of photos. The type of effects you want is entirely up to you. Crisp contracts black and white, softer tone black and white, vintage-style sepia or even your favorite Instagram effect. If you give me a picture with a cool effect you like, I will do my best to imitate the effect on your photos.
Can I bring props to the photoshoot?
You definately can if you want to. Props are a great idea for more special and artistic photos. They add originality, especially if the item has sentimental value for you. Props can be anything, like a bouquet of flowers, a family photo album, balloons, a cool vintage arm chair or a beloved pet. If you can transport it, you can bring it along.
